Tanglewood farm
Yesterday Today Tomorrow
Built and occupied by over four generations of the Tomlinson Family, Tanglewood is one of the finest intact farm complexes in Johnston County. The spacious Revival house was built for Bernice Harris Tomlinson upon his marriage to Elizabeth Walton in 1835.
The early farmstead sits on almost 50 acres with a collection of outbuildings ranging from the 1830s gable, a circa 1910 13-stall mule barn – the only one left in Johnston County - firmly securing TANGLEWOOD FARM'S status with the North Carolina Historic Preservation Office.

Fast forward to 2020, where for the first time in its almost 200 hundred year history, TANGLEWOOD went on the market and was purchased by Mark Seibel and Tina Royals of Raleigh, NC. Mark and Tina understood the importance of preserving TANGLEWOOD and firmly took the reigns of a historical restoration and brought this important property back to its former significance.

Today, along with its successful Wedding and Events venue, TANGLEWOOD continues to be a working farm, respecting its nearly 200 year history, all under a North Carolina sky.
